Ex-Australian Idol judge Mark Holden has sold his trademark ‘touchdown’ catchphrase to former Baywatch hunk David Hasselhoff.

Holden has priced his renowned Idol catchphrase at the domestic and international rate of 10,000 dollars after it was replicated on the Channel 10 talent quest.

Hasselhoff will in turn be able to perform the energetic move in his role as a judge on hit series ‘America’s Got Talent’.

However, there was a catch to the sale – the fee must be donated to charity.

Holden, holidaying with his family at Hasselhoff’s Bel Air mansion in LA, revealed news of the signature trade to Confidential.

“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but a cheque would be better,” News.com.au quoted Holden, as saying.

“David can’t wait to use it – and he’s planning to donate the money to a charity associated with the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department),” he added. (ANI)

David Hasselhoff will make a rare big screen appearance in the comedy sequel Beverly Hills Ninja 2, according to Variety. The follow-up to 1997′s Chris Farley-starring action comedy will shoot entirely on location in South Korea next month. It becomes the first mainstream Hollywood film to do so. The story this time centres on an orphaned boy who wants to be a ninja but becomes involved in a crime in Hollywood while looking for his real parents. No word yet on which role the Hoff will play, but we’re hoping it’s a nice big one.
