From the Jumeirah Beach Hotel…

David updated us today about his stay at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and a view of the beautiful Burj Al Arab hotel they could see from the elevator.

“The Burj Al Arab is the world’s only seven star hotel; even movie stars can’t afford to stay there! It was designed to look a sail and is built on a manmade island.”

It really does look like a sail! Thanks David. Read his full blog.

Oscar Viewing Party in Abu Dhabi

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

David hosted the Oscar viewing party yesterday at the Intercontinental Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

View the photos posted by Hasselhoff-Friends.

The National also did a story about the sparkle and glamor of Hollywood in Abu Dhabi, and spoke with David.

But it was Hasselhoff’s unexpected presence that truly made it a night to remember. “I came to the school to spread some goodwill and talk to the students,” he said. “I was in Dubai before but I didn’t make it to Abu Dhabi, so I wanted to come over here and see what all the hoopla is about – the fact that they have a school here for filmmaking is really impressive.”

The Hoff Blog is updated!

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

David wrote about his visit to the Brit Awards last night on his blog today, also adding his trip around the media circuit.

“I was asked to present the awards for Best British Group at the Brit Awards (it went Elbow) and it was absolutely AWESOME!

It was such a good time and I was really honored to be able to present at such a big awards show.”

Continue reading and see photos at his blog. He also has the Radio 1 interview up as well!

David also talked about visiting Scott Mills and how he was on his radio show backstage.  That interview is here. Visit this blog post!

“Since Scott Mills and I are good friends, I couldn’t go to the Brits without stopping by to visit him as he was broadcasting live from backstage.

A good looking young man came in and looked just like a waiter. We started talking and it turned out her was Will Young, winner of the first ever UK Pop Idol show! The rest is on video here and I think it is something that needs to be watched, instead of told.

I will say though, that I simply could not resist asking Will Young what the specials were!”

The Hoff is a busy blogger today, he talked about filming Loose Women and posted a video of what the paparazzi are like in England! Here is that blog post.

Watch out for LivingTV’s “The Hoff: When Scott Came to Stay” airing on April 6, 2009 in the UK.

The Hoff also did an interview with XFM UK where he talked about how his daughters got him into Coldplay.

“My daughters turned me on to Coldplay a long time ago. I follow their lead. They’re so hip, they’re 16 and 18 and they know what’s going down.”

The Brit Awards 2009 – As It Happened

Entertainment.timesonline.co.uk

Hoff excerpt:

21:12 The Hoff is on stage to present Best British Band. Hasselhoff says he grew up listening to the Rolling Stones, The Who and the Beatles: “all of which led the world. Nothing changes”. And the award goes to… Mancunian rockers Elbow. A great result for them, though probably not Coldplay, even though Chris Martin is on his feet applauding and doesn’t look too bothered. Must have been taking acting lessons from the missus. Elbow have been going at least a decade, so this prize is richly deserved. Lead singer Garvey says the band are relieved they had not worn elaborate costumes. “We are just really glad we didn’t do the spaceship or the feather boas. This is really special. We love where we live and we love making music. To be involved in these celebrations is a really big thing.”
