David is once again going to take part in the Gumball 3000 rally, according to their website. He is expected to start the race off in London on Saturday at Pall Mall at 2 p.m.
The tour will begin in London on the 1st May, before taking in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Quebec City, Toronto and finally rounding off in New York. Seven long days and nights later, 3000 miles across some of the finest scenery in Europe, Scandinavia, Canada and the US.
David first got involved with the race back in 2008, driving the famous K.I.T.T. in San Francisco.
David visited Gut Aiderbichl in Henndorf, Austria on Saturday, where he visited with rescued animals and even sponsored a Bernese Mountain dog. Under his protection are seven other dogs, although his daughter just rescued a stray the other day.
David worries that most of the pit bulls in the U.S. brought to shelters are euthanized, and asks for help. [Translated via Google] “We need help! For if one of you dressed people given up the aggression, they would not be gentle.” I believe he means if pit bull owners trained them well, they wouldn’t be so aggressive, and turned into shelters so often.
Standing next to one of the horses, Pinot Grigio, David says he’d have to shoot a movie with him, he would be great for fulfilling the role of KITT!
David was on Musikantenstadl today in Salzburg, Austria. He sang a number of songs, including “This Time Around” and “Looking for Freedom.” The hills are alive with the sound of many videos from the event!
Check out all the other Musikantenstadl videos below!
The Hoff News Crew posted this first video, David singing, “This Time Around.”
Thanks Andrea Zabcik for translating this for us, it was very kind! We appreciate it.
From the transcript, I subtitled the interview and put it on YouTube, for any interested in watching it with subtitles this time.
Disclaimer: David’s quotes are mostly translated back from what the German reporter was saying. Most of the time, I was not able to capture what David actually said, the voiceovers were too loud.
RTL (voice-over): It’s about time the man started talking. Here, across from the Millenium Arena in London, we are catching up with David Hasselhoff. The most-viewed TV star in the world is finally willing to tell us how he dealt with his public descent into alcoholism. What really happened behind the scenes at the ATM [Europe] Awards? (clip from MTV) And why did someone tape the most famous TV Lifeguard while he was trying to eat a burger completely drunk on the floor of his house? Why was that tape then circulated around the world? Everyone now knows David has a problem with alcohol, but does he?
David was a guest on Stefan Raab’s show on TV Total today. He spoke a bit about his book, his upcoming appearance on Musikantenstadl and they had some fun times with Germany’s version of Top Model. David even said he wanted to buy a piece of land in the town of Hasselhof, so his address would be “David Hasselhoff, Germany.”
Some entertaining videos were posted on YouTube in the past day or so from showing David going down the giant slide at Coachella to his interview on Vera Exklusiv a few days ago. Andrea is kind enough to translate RTL Exlusiv for us, and we’ll be able to see an english translation in the coming days.
Look who’s coming home to Genoa City! EW.com has learned that David Hasselhoff will briefly reprise his role as Dr. William “Snapper” Foster, Jr. on The Young and the Restless. He’ll return to the show’s Los Angeles set in May for an arc that will start airing in mid-June. The Baywatch star got his start in TV by starring on the popular sudser from 1975 to 1982.
“In 1976, Bill Bell, creator of America’s No. 1 soap opera, took a chance on a young and very green actor,” Hasselhoff said in a statement given exclusively to EW.com. “Playing Snapper in 850 shows during the six years I appeared molded my craft, my attitude and my work ethic. Being asked to come back to appear in several episodes gives me a chance to say thanks, as I have an amazing amount of respect and heartfelt emotion for Bill, his family and my time on Young and the Restless. I just hope I can remember all those lines.”
Hasselhoff won’t be the only Foster family member to stage a surprise homecoming: Veteran TV actor Wings Hauser will also reprise his role as Snapper’s brother Greg, and Julianna McCarthy will pick up where she left off in 2008 as matriarch Liz Foster Brooks. She is the mother of Jill Foster Abbott, who is currently played by the Emmy-winning Jess Walton (who didn’t start playing the character until 1987 so there will be no vintage shots of the Foster family). While in Genoa City, Hasselhoff’s Snapper married Chris Brooks and had an affair with Sally McGuire, who bore his son Chuckie. On the wedding day of Snapper’s mother and Chris’s father, they presented the couple with new granddaughter Jennifer Elizabeth Foster. Snapper supposedly left Wisconsin in 1982 to accept a three-month fellowship in London to teach; he ended up staying there.
