Saturday, May 26th, 2012Endless Summer Wisdom from David Hasselhoff
Friday, May 25th, 2012As we told you earlier in the week, David Hasselhoff has a short interview in today’s USA Weekend.
Although he put away his Baywatch bathing suit nine years ago, David Hasselhoff, 59, is back on the lifeguard stand in the horror comedy Piranha 3DD, opening June 1. Now that his daughters, Taylor-Ann, 22, and Hayley, 19, are out on their own (with new performing careers), he has more time to sing, act and appear on reality shows.
The Hoff offers his thoughts on the joys of summer at a beach:
Best beaches: “For the epitome of the California lifestyle — the realBaywatch — it’s Huntington Beach. It’s got the girls, the surfers and the waves. Bondi in Australia is my all-time favorite for hanging out. The Mount in New Zealand has the best waves. I also like Santa Monica, Zuma (in Malibu) and Makena (Hawaii).”
Speedos: “Don’t wear them unless you’re a professional swimmer, water polo player or alone with your girlfriend. On Baywatch, we wore Speedos under our shorts.”
Getting tar off your feet: Use rubbing alcohol.
Preventing sunburn: “Wear lots of sunblock, especially when you’re young, and make sure your kids wear it. Most sun damage occurs in your early years. There’s lots of melanoma out there. Our Baywatchcrew guys came down with minor forms of skin cancer. As long as you get it checked right away, you’re OK.”
When swimming: “Always swim near a lifeguard tower.”
Best beach book: “Don’t bring one. You want to look at the babes, swim and just enjoy.”
Best thing about summer: “I’ve got to have summer in my life all the time. New Year’s Eve 2010 I was on a stage in Berlin at the Brandenburg Gate singing Looking for Freedom. I got on a plane and woke up in Australia, where it was summer. I look for summer all over the world.”

Sizzling David Hasselhoff Interview Inside This Friday’s USA Weekend
Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012David Hasselhoff in New Cumberland Farms Iced Coffee Ad
Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012Cumberland Farms this week broke a new television spot touting iced coffee this week starring former “Knight Rider” (NBC) and “Baywatch” (NBC and syndication) star David Hasselhoff, the company said on Wednesday.
The new 30-second TV commercial, which was created by Boston-based ad shop Full Contact, features an extremely toned couple walking along the beach. They run into David Hasselhoff, who’s standing next to a sand-sculpture grand piano. Hasselhoff guzzles a Cumberland Farms iced coffee, declares it, “Hofftastic,” and asks the woman, “Wanna bang out a tune?”

On the Set of Piranha 3DD
Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012One of the bigger selling points of the sequel to the 2010 gore-fest that wasPiranha is the arrival of David Hasselhoff, an item that was not included with the “first” film (or second remake, technically). The promotions for Piranha 3DDhaven’t been shy in reminding us that The Hoff Is coming along for the ride this time around, and that includes this latest promotional video.
This featurette comes courtesy of iTunes and features David Hasselhoff giving us an eye-opening view of his trailer and mindset into being what he describes as a “semi-washed-up TV star/famous icon.” This apparently involves creepy eye-less masks and merchandising. It should be noted, however, that in addition to giving us a look at Hoff’s role in the film, there’s something potentially spoilery toward the end of the video, so watch on with that in mind!
Gotta love a Hoff with a sense of humor, right?
The slow-mo run and keyboard playing in the bedroom are moments we’ve seen previously, so while they’re moderate spoilers, especially when you consider how great it’ll likely be to see Hoff let loose his dormant life-guard during what could be a crucial point in during the mayhem, as all of those young water-park swimmers are being devoured by fish, what might be the bigger spoiler comes toward the end.
Hasselhoff points out that he gets to sing during the end credits. That in itself is a reasonably sized spoiler. And we get to see him running on the beach singing about being a fish hunter, which seems like a modified version of the “Love Hunter” song he’s singing during the keyboard scene. So does this mean Hoff’s the hero of Piranha 3DD? Or at the very least, that he survives at the end? Seems like a reasonable bit of speculation, at the very least.
We’ll have to wait and see how things turn out for Hoff and the rest of the characters when Piranha 3DD arrives in theaters June 1.
