DAVID Hasselhoff will star in this year’s Theatre Royal pantomime, Peter Pan, as ultimate baddie Captain Hook.
Joining him will be Nottingham’s Hi-de-Hi star Su Pollard.
The Hoff, best known for his iconic roles as Michael Knight in Knight Rider and Mitch Buchanan in Baywatch says he’s thrilled to be heading to Nottingham.
“I love performing in pantomime. It’s a fabulous British tradition and a great excuse to get the whole family together and enjoy a wonderful and entertaining time at the theatre.
“I can’t wait to spend Christmas with the people of Nottingham but watch out – Hoff the Hook is coming to get you. You’re gonna love me….oh yes, you are!”
The title role of Peter Pan is to be played by children’s television star Barney Harwood, who has presented Planet Pop the CBBC show Smile for which he won the Children’s BAFTA for Best TV Presenter.
Pollard will play Magical Mermaid. Her other TV appearances include You Rang, M’lord? and Oh, Doctor Beeching!
Jonathan Kiley, Executive Producer of Peter Pan says:
“We are thrilled to present a stellar line-up of huge talent for this year’s Theatre Royal Christmas show. The superb cast, combined with top-drawer production values, stunning sets and fabulous costumes makes Peter Pan the region’s unmissable pantomime.
“Peter Pan guarantees a treasure-chest full of comedy, much seasonal silliness, along with stunning flying sequences. You’re guaranteed to be hooked by the swashbuckling pantomime adventure which has enthralled audiences for decades and is the perfect festive treat for all the family” added Jonathan.
Jonathan Saville, Director of Sales, Marketing and Development at the Theatre Royal Nottingham, is delighted with this year’s line-up of stars. He says:
“We are thrilled to confirm that David Hasselhoff will be playing Captain Hook in this year’s Theatre Royal pantomime, Peter Pan. We’ve pulled out all the stops with our star cast this year: international superstar The Hoff will appear alongside the nation’s favourite children’s TV presenter, Barney Harwood, and Nottingham’s very own comedy institution, Su Pollard. This is a very special cast indeed. Peter Pan will be the biggest and best pantomime in the region this Christmas, and I’m sure that we will see our box office breaking records once again this year.”
