We've all wondered what role David Hasselhoff is playing in the new Baywatch movie, seeing as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is playing Mitch Buchannon. It turns out David will be hitting the beach as Dwayne's mentor, and he's playing himself. David says fans should "expect the unexpected."
"No, I’m playing Hasselhoff. I play the Rock’s mentor," he told the Press Association.
"I come to him when I see he’s in trouble. The rest is a surprise."
"It’s not going to be the Baywatch of old, nor should it be. We can’t recreate that," he said.
Hasselhoff added producers had done a ‘really great job’ of updating Baywatch for modern movie audiences, who would not be left disappointed.
"You can’t recreate Hasselhoff. I can’t recreate The Rock. I can’t recreate Zac Efron. They’re cool, they’re nice people, they have a heart and they have a sense of humor. What made Baywatch was heart, humor and action. I think they got it."
