The purple one surprises crowd with 'Creep'PrinceÂ surprised the sold-out crowd atÂ CoachellaÂ tonight with a cover ofRadioheadâ€™sÂ â€˜Creepâ€™, plusÂ The BeatlesÂ andÂ Sarah McLachlancovers, as well as a a mind-blowing selection of his greatest hits.The purple oneâ€™s highly-anticipated set on theÂ Main StageÂ kicked off around 30-minutes later than scheduled, as a crowd of tens of thousands anxiously awaited his arrival.Emerging onstage amid a fog of dry ice, wearing a white tunic and white trousers,Â PrinceÂ said simply "Coachella, I am here" before launching intoÂ â€˜Jungle Loveâ€™, joined byÂ Morris DayÂ who took on vocal duties on the track.In front one of the biggest crowds ever seen at the main stage, he told the audience "You are the coolest place on earth", before being joined by another guestÂ Sheila E, who performed her hitÂ â€˜The Glamorous Lifeâ€™.It was 20 minutes in when he kicked off the first of his biggest hits, withâ€˜1999â€™, and went on to performÂ â€˜Little Red Corvetteâ€™,Â â€˜Creamâ€™Â and'Controversy', among others.Â â€œLook around you. So many different faces from so many different places all bonded by music. Iâ€™m tired of debates,â€ he said before launching intoÂ The BeatlesÂ â€˜Come Togetherâ€™Â during which the singer rallied the enormous crowd to chant â€œWar no moreâ€™â€ between verses.The audience was nothing short of awestruck at the nine-minuteÂ â€˜Creepâ€™jam which saw the singer change lyrics slightly to â€˜Baby I think youâ€™re specialâ€™, and add in a trademark guitar solo, but in general staying true to the original version.TheÂ RadioheadÂ cover was followed by a touching version ofÂ Sarah McLachlanâ€™sÂ â€˜In The Arms Of An Angelâ€™, sung by one of his backing singers, who sang the track asÂ PrinceÂ made a quick costume change into an orange tunic ensemble.The star-studded crowd watchingÂ Princeâ€™s set from the packed VIP area included a veritable motley crue of celebrities includingÂ David Hasselhoff,Â Melanie Griffith,Â Steven Tyler,Â Sienna Miller,Â Scott Speedman,Â Jared LetoÂ and a host of otherÂ HollywoodÂ types.Â In typicalÂ PrinceÂ style, he stuck around for an hour after the usual midnight curfew, and even then he wasn't done."They're telling me that we got to go, but I can't leave!" he said â€œCoachella, did we have a good time at this party or what?
