See the Trailer for David's New Movie, Devil's Carnival: Alleluia

The Devil's Carnival has a new sequel called The Devil's Carnival: Alleluia, and David Hasselhoff is part of the cast and even has a singing part. It's the story of Lucifer exacting a revenge plot against Heaven, but God and his agents are ready for battle. The feature-length film will be shopped at AFM by Execution Style Entertainment. The filmmaker has usually bypassed traditional distribution models, and instead become hits on the midnight circuit.“Securing financing, getting distribution, getting anything off the ground these days is a damn miracle,” he said. “The Carnival is our answer to that. We found a way to circumvent the catch-22 by making this more than just a movie. The Devil’s Carnival is an experience that demands more of you than sitting there and just being passive.”“With episode one, we proved there was a market for our anti-Glee content and punk rock business model,” said Zdunich, who also plays Lucifer. “The Devil's Carnival is now back by popular demand, and Alleluia is bigger and badder than the first one.”Heat Vision has the exclusive first-look at the trailer for Devil’s Carnival: AlleluiaSource: HoffArmy and The Hollywood Reporter

David Hasselhoff to Play Himself in Joe Carnahan's Stretch

According to The Wrap, both Ray Liotta and David Hasselhoff have boarded the upcoming action comedy Stretch from director Joe Carnahan, and apparently they will both be playing themselves in the movie. What's more, the cast has also added actor Shaun Toub, and the director has announced via Twitter that Iron Man 3's James Badge Dale has come aboard as well. The film stars Patrick Wilson as Stretch, a down-on-his-luck limo driver with a bit of a gambling problem. When he discovers that he is only one job away from paying off his bookie, he takes a gig escorting a mysterious billionaire (Chris Pine) with some bizarre tastes. As the night progresses, things get weirder and more crazy, as Stretch finds himself stuck with the client from hell. The latest casting report doesn't mention how Liotta, Hasselhoff or Dale will fit into the movie, but notes that Toub will be the "no-nonsense owner of the limo company" that Stretch works for.  As the night grows stranger and Stretch is pushed into some dangerous encounters, he worries that the freak in his back seat might just be his final fare.Toub will play the no-nonsense owner of the limo company that employs Stretch, while Liotta and Hasselhoff are expected to cameo as themselves, according to an individual familiar with the project.Hasselhoff is best known for his heroic portrayal of Mitch Buchannon on "Baywatch," which holds the Guinness World Record for most watched television series in history. He's currently in pre-production on the indie comedy "Killing Haselhoff," which he'll produce and star in. He's repped by manager Eric Gardner of Panacea Entertainment.Universal will release the low-budget movie in North America on March 21, 2014. Production begins June 30 in Los Angeles.

Update January 22, 2014:

Stretch, the low budget comedy-thriller, (it cost under $5 million) had been scheduled to hit theaters on March 21st, but perhaps the lack of a marketing campaign should've indicated something was afoot. Indeed, THR reports that Universal has dropped the movie from their schedule, with no current plans to release it in theaters.Apparently, Universal couldn't see the justification in spending $20-40 million on a marketing campaign, presumably because they don't think they can make it back. Blum tried to find another distributor but wasn't able to make a deal with anyone, so for now, "Stretch" is in limbo.

Killing Hasselhoff Movie in the Works

We've been hearing about the Killing Hasselhoff movie for awhile, and David talked about it at the Fallbrook Film Festival, but now we finally have some concrete information as to the plot.

This laugh out loud comedy was introduced to Intandem by the Co-creators, producers and writers of Baywatch (and the forthcoming Baywatch Movie), Michele and Michael Berk. They will be producing this along with David Hasselhoff. Chris Collins’s world is turned upside down, personally, professionally and financially by the worst run of luck imaginable.  Desperate, Chris decides that the only way out of his nightmare is to orchestrate the immediate death of David Hasselhoff  and make it look natural or accidental, so that he can win nearly half-a-million dollars in his “Celebrity Death Pool”.

Variety Interview:David Hasselhoff took to the beach in Cannes this week, this time for business meetings not for Baywatch duty.

The Hoff was in town for three days to talk up his forthcoming feature film Killing Hasselhoff, in which he will star and serve as one of the producers. He said he wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the film crowds here — he has long attended the MIP markets for TV in Cannes but had never attended the film festival before. He enjoyed attending the opening-night soiree for The Great Gatsby, and got a lot of stares and requests for photos and autographs. “It’s an international market and people seem to know me internationally, I’m the biggest TV star in France right now,” he said with a laugh. “It’s a world of movies. Why is everyone looking at me?” He got a lot of shouts of Alerte à Malibu and K200 (the French titles for Baywatch and Knight Rider, respectively.)But he’s also been here on business talking up the new comedy. Michele Berk, one of the co-creators and producers of Baywatch, got the script for Killing Hasselhoff and immediately knew the actor would love it.“She gave it to me on my birthday,” Hasselhoff remembers. “She said, ‘I have a birthday present for you, it’s called Killing Hasselhoff. I said, ‘I’m in, I don’t care what the script is, I know I can live with that title’…The only person who can bring David Hasselhoff down is David Hasselhoff.”The ensemble comedy will be about a man who hopes to claim the jackpot from a celebrity death pool by hiring a hitman to kill The Hoff.Hasselhoff is willing to poke fun at his image in the project. “They come to my house to kill me, and I’m lifting weights and talking about doing Batman the Musical,” he says. “It’s very funny.”This kind of comedy appeals to him. “I want to be entertained at the movies, or moved. We’ve forgotten to entertain. Reality [TV] has taken over and they’re paying people thousands of dollars to go around sitting in hot tubs and talk about a bunch of crap about each other and they’re getting famous. They are stupid people and stupid situations. It’s great to get back to something that’s well written.”The Hoff is that rare breed of celebrity that seems to actually enjoy being famous. “Why shouldn’t you?,” he asks. “I think the people that don’t have fun with fame and celebrity are the ones that were insecure before they were actors. Then they become more insecure.”He continues: “It’s an amazing life that’s allowed me to go around the world, have lunch in Cannes, sell a movie about myself.”The Hoff has a short stay in Cannes because he’s now off to drive in the famous Gumball 3000 road rally. But he’s not taking his eye off his business for long. “I’ve got a lot of stuff coming up, I kind of go with the flow. I’m at a really good time in my life. I have a phrase that is ‘see it, believe it, live it.’ It works.”Hasselhoff’s other projects include a German TV Series, Tales from The Hoff; a comic book The Hoff: Heroes of Fearless Freedom; a videogame calledHoff at Zombie Beach, and touring with live events such as David Hasselhoffpresents The ’80s and ’90s.He is encouraged by his meetings in Cannes so far. “This is aninternational market, we’re here with an international project and the response has just been terrific.

Christmas With 'The Hoff' - ET Canada

Check out the video here.Every entertainment reporter has an interview wish list. It’s kind of like a letter to Santa but instead of a shiny new bike, you ask the big guy for just five-minutes with Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney or Bono. I too have one of these lists, but mine reads a little different than most. It’s embarrassingly nostalgic; featuring iconic folks like William Shatner, Betty White and my first legitimate crush: Knight Rider. Well, Christmas came early this year because I finally got my one-on-one with David Hasselhoff. The Christmas Consultant was shot in the quaint Vancouver suburb of Fort Langley, just around the corner from where I grew up. In the TV movie, The Hoff plays an over-the-top holiday planner with a dark secret and a passion for tacky ties (see the above photo).Production transformed the town into a holiday happy land complete with fake snow and wreaths in doorways, and The Hoff was in his element. He delivered page after page of dialogue, and between takes he waved and smiled at the curious locals. Crew members said he was hard working and a class act. I would describe him as a 60-year-old man with the energy of a toddler on Christmas morning.Once I got him in the director's chair, The Hoff opened up about his new Welsh girlfriend; his love/hate relationship with the press and what holidays are like at the Hasselhoff Residence. He was gracious, goofy and (in true holiday spirit)… giving.Watch the exclusive interview on Wednesday's ET Canada 7:30 p.m. ET/PT!

'Baywatch' to Become Big Screen Comedy

From Digital Spy

By Simon Reynolds, Movies Editor

Paramount is to turn hit TV show Baywatch into a big screen comedy, reports Variety. The studio has hired Jeremy Garelick to write and make his directorial debut on the project. Garelick, who did uncredited work on The Hangover, was initially asked to rewrite the action-centric Baywatch script but wanted to take the movie in a comedic direction."It felt like the template to do a movie that was similar to Stripes and Police Academy, the comedies I loved growing up," Garelick said."Rather than trying to pitch the tone, I figured it would be easier to write the first act to convey who these characters were."Garelick's story centres on two out-of-shape lifeguard hopefuls attempting to keep up with their fitter colleagues. The original Baywatch series, which starred David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, ran from 1989 to 1999 and spawned spinoff series Baywatch Nights and 2003 reunion film Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding.

The New York Post's Pop Wrap reports that although the film will focus on a new cast of characters, David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson are expected to return.
